Nothing fancy about this product but it does a great job of supplying only the needed amount of water to my newly planted oak tree. In the past I would water the tree using a hose and on a number of occasions I forgot to turn off the hose resulting in the tree being overwatered and wasting water which in the current drought situation here in Texas is a problem.

I recently bought the two 20 gallon tree gators for my newly planted live oaks. We're in a severe drought and everything is drying up. Since these have been on the trees I am already seeing new growth indicating they're going to make it. I absolutely recommend the tree gators, so easy to use!

We had 7 pretty large trees planted in OK in late March of 2011. The first thing that happened two weeks later were high winds that uprooted four of them and blew them over. Our landscapers replanted them and then we started in with an extremely hot summer (over 100 degrees daily for over a month) and watering restrictions. They came out and put the Treegators on all of the trees (we lost one due to it never rooting from the first replant) and I have been faithfully filling them about every other day. The trees are hanging in there and I am so pleased.
Treegators are simple to use; my only complaint is that sometimes the water doesn't seep out the bottom if they're not sitting straight and you really have to resettle the bags. Important to fill them 1/4 of the way, make sure they are sitting straight, and then refill the rest of the way. I called the company for trouble shooting on this and they were helpful.
I bought a couple more for the year old trees in the backyard; I think they are a great invention!
